Taylor Lauds Muzhange

Zimbabwe captain, Brendan Taylor, was delighted with the impact of debutant, Richard Muzhange, in his side's 11-run triumph over Bangladesh at the Harare Sports Club, on Sunday.

It was a fine start to the Twenty20 tri-series for the hosts, who opted to hand Muzhange his international bow at the expense of the more experienced players, Shingi Masakadza and Brian Vitori.

The 21-year-old conceded just three runs in his first over, and returned later in the innings to remove Bangladesh skipper, Mushfiqur Rahim, with an excellent Yorker, much to the delight of cricket-lovers indulging in some sport betting.

The inexperienced right-arm seamer suffered in the face of Nasir Hossain's late-order hitting, but his captain was encouraged by what he saw.

"Richard is exceptional in that he is able to find the blockhole at will. He has a great attitude and he just wants to keep learning and improving. He is just a keen kid who wants to get better," said Taylor.

Hamilton Masakadza hit 62, earlier in the day, to set Zimbabwe on their way to victory, with Taylor chipping in with 38 as his team posted 154-6.

Bangladesh's response offered early promise, but they fell away once the home side broke Mohammad Ashraful and Tamim Iqbal's first-wicket partnership of 61. They finished on 143-5.

"We felt we were 15 short, but we stuck it out towards the end to get a competitive total. Our bowlers were great, with a lot of slower balls from the seamers," added Taylor.

"Our bowling up front can be better, though. We leaked a couple too many boundaries and we can sharpen up our middle overs with the bat."

The next match of the tri-series sees Bangladesh take on South Africa, on Tuesday, while Zimbabwe's next fixture is against the Proteas, the following day. Check out the latest odds online, if you are thinking of betting on either game.
